Organized by the Rajabazar ICDS Project in collaboration with Poshan Abhiyaan, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and various health teams, the event featured a diverse range of activities, including medical camps, nutrition education, and awards.
The Mela, inaugurated by District Social Welfare Officer-In-Charge Anjali Kumari, emphasized the importance of community-driven initiatives in promoting healthy lifestyles. Key activities included a T3 camp, a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) providing essential healthcare, growth monitoring camps to detect Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), and an RBSK screening camp.
A special focus was placed on menstrual health with a Menstrual Hygiene Management Camp, while a PMMVY Registration Camp raised awareness about maternal and child benefits. The event also included a Kishori Sevika Got Camp and a street play highlighting the importance of nutrition and the empowerment of girls.
To encourage healthy practices, the Mela introduced the Healthy Child Award, recognizing families with well-nourished children in three age groups. The MMU Health Team conducted an on-site Anaemia Detection Camp, and five adolescent girls with the highest haemoglobin levels were honored as “Miss Haemoglobin.” A recipe demonstration further encouraged the adoption of healthy and affordable cooking practices.
The Health and Nutrition Mela served as a platform for raising awareness and promoting healthy lifestyles within the community. By addressing critical health and nutritional concerns through interactive activities and engaging initiatives, the event aimed to foster a brighter and healthier future for all.
