Gangtok: In a significant boost to employment opportunities, 80 individuals in Gangtok, Sikkim, were handed appointment letters during the ‘Rozgar Mela 2024’ held on December 23.
The event marked another milestone in the government’s initiative to empower youth through meaningful employment.
Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav presided over the event and distributed the appointment letters to the newly recruited candidates.
Addressing the gathering, he urged the recipients to take their responsibilities seriously and contribute to national development. He emphasized the importance of their roles in realizing the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by 2047.
The Rozgar Mela initiative, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in October 2022, aims to provide a platform for direct recruitment, connecting job seekers with opportunities that align with the country’s development goals. These job fairs serve as a bridge between employers and candidates, enabling a streamlined recruitment process through interviews and applications conducted on-site.
The event highlighted the government’s commitment to fostering self-empowerment and active participation in nation-building, offering a promising start for the young recruits in their professional journeys.
