Sikkim MP Indra Hang Subba Stresses Importance of Skill Development for Inclusive Growth
Gangtok: Sikkim’s Lok Sabha MP, Indra Hang Subba, recently emphasized the significance of skill development in fostering human development and inclusive growth during a Parliamentary session.
He highlighted the rising demand for skilled professionals driven by technological advancements and called for a transformative shift in India’s education system.
Subba asserted that India’s education system has remained static for decades and needs to be adapted to future needs by embedding skill development courses in the curriculum.
He emphasized that skill development not only empowers individuals but also equips the workforce to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving economy.
Subba’s appeal aligns with national initiatives like #SkillIndia, which aims to promote skill development and vocational training. His vision also reflects aspirations for a developed India (#VikshitBharat) and a progressive Sikkim (#VikshitSikkim). As a member of the Lok Sabha, Subba’s term began on June 9, 2024, and he has shown a strong commitment to parliamentary activities, with an attendance record of 89%.
