SSB Commandant appreciates Sikkim Government for Timely Repair of Uttarey-Chewabhanjang Road

Gangtok: The Commandant of the 36th Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), stationed in Gyalshing, Sikkim, has extended his gratitude to the Sikkim government for ensuring the timely repair of the Uttarey-Chewabhanjang road.

In an official communication addressed to the state’s Roads & Bridges Minister, the Commandant emphasized the importance of the repaired road in supporting logistical operations for SSB personnel deployed at higher altitudes near the Nepal border.

The Commandant highlighted the vital role the road plays in enhancing the operational efficiency of troops safeguarding the international border. “This road is essential for providing logistical support to our troops. With the road now motorable, our personnel are better equipped to perform their duties efficiently, even in harsh climatic conditions,” he stated.

Acknowledging the minister’s personal involvement in the project, the Commandant praised the government’s commitment to the welfare of security personnel and expressed hope for continued collaboration in the future. “Your unwavering support has been instrumental, and I am confident that our shared efforts will strengthen operations in the future,” the letter concluded.

The repair of the Uttarey-Chewabhanjang road marks a significant development in ensuring seamless connectivity and operational readiness for border security forces in Sikkim’s challenging terrain.
