Assam Government Announces Key IPS Appointments and Promotions
Assam: The Assam Government’s Home (A) Department has issued a notification announcing significant appointments and promotions of Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, aimed at strengthening public service delivery.
In a notable move, Ankur Jain (IPS) has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General of Police (AP), Assam, stationed at Ulubari, Guwahati. The assignment includes the drawal of salary and allowances. Additionally, Jain will serve as the Joint Commissioner of Police for the Police Commissionerate in Guwahati. Before this, he was the Commandant of the 10th Assam Police Battalion, Kahilipara.
Another important promotion has elevated Munna Prasad Gupta (IPS), previously serving as the Additional Director General of Police (CID), Assam at Ulubari, to the position of Special Director General of Police (CID), Assam.
Partha Sarathi Mahanta (IPS) has been appointed as the Commissioner of Police for the Police Commissionerate in Guwahati. Alongside this, Mahanta has been substantively posted as the Inspector General of Police (STF), Assam, based in Srimantapur.
These appointments reflect the Assam Government’s continued efforts to optimize law enforcement efficiency and strengthen the administrative framework across the state.
