Youth’s Body Found in Oil Drum in Assam’s Sivasagar: Police Suspect Links to Oil Theft Case
Assam: In a shocking incident, the body of a youth was discovered inside an oil-filled drum at the residence of Manoj Dutta in Assam’s Sivasagar district, leaving the local community in disbelief.
The gruesome find was made at Dutta’s house, where the remains of Ksheek Barua, a young man who had been missing for some time, were found submerged in the drum.
Police were immediately alerted and have since launched a detailed investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that Barua’s death may be tied to a larger crime involving oil theft. Both Barua and Kaustav Dutta, the son of Manoj Dutta, are suspected of being involved in the theft of oil from a local facility.
Kaustav Dutta, who had been vacationing with Barua, has been arrested in connection with the case. Authorities have also recovered two stolen oil drums containing 1,000 liters of oil from the scene, further strengthening suspicions of the duo’s involvement in the theft.
Law enforcement officers are currently working to unravel the circumstances leading to Barua’s death. The investigation aims to determine whether foul play or an accident during the alleged theft resulted in the tragic outcome.
As news of the discovery spread, the village has been gripped by shock and fear. The community is now anxiously awaiting further updates from the police, as the horrific details of the case continue to emerge.
