Assam Government Announces Recruitment for 4,500 Teaching Positions
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has unveiled plans to recruit 4,500 Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) teachers as part of the state’s broader initiative to create 1.5 lakh government jobs by 2026.
Applications for the teaching positions will be accepted from February 15 to March 31, 2025, via the Directorate of Elementary Education’s official website, dee.assam.gov.in.
During the distribution of appointment letters to new recruits in the Education department, Chief Minister Sarma also highlighted the significant progress the government has made in creating employment opportunities. Since assuming office, the government has facilitated 97,454 government jobs, showcasing a commitment to merit-based appointments and transparency in the recruitment process.
“We are committed to ensuring that government jobs are secured through merit, eliminating the corruption that once plagued recruitment,” stated Sarma. He further emphasized the importance of this initiative in providing equal opportunity for all candidates and reaffirmed the state’s goal of generating 150,000 government jobs for the youth of Assam, ensuring a brighter and more prosperous future for the state.
