Assam Eyes Global Aircraft Dismantling Facility and Regional Development Boost

Assam: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has unveiled plans to potentially establish a state-of-the-art facility for dismantling aircraft from around the world, positioning the state as a key player in the global aviation industry.

Addressing a felicitation event for meritorious students in Pandu, the chief minister revealed ongoing discussions with Boeing to secure the project, which, if finalized, will see Boeing aircraft dismantled at the proposed facility in Assam.

The announcement underscores Assam’s emergence as a hub for industrial investments and cutting-edge projects. CM Sarma emphasized the state’s growing appeal to global enterprises, highlighting the government’s proactive approach to fostering innovation and economic growth.

In addition to this ambitious initiative, the chief minister announced targeted developmental measures for Rani Chapori in Dharapur to tackle local challenges and uplift residents’ quality of life. Among the key measures, he assured immediate steps to address erosion issues that have long plagued the region.

Further enhancing the region’s infrastructure, CM Sarma confirmed the implementation of solar power solutions within the next 30-40 days, providing a sustainable and reliable energy source for the area. These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to driving progress and addressing the needs of communities across Assam.
