Itanagar: The State Election Commission of Arunachal Pradesh has bestowed the prestigious Best Electoral Practice Award for Simultaneous Election 2024 upon Superintendent of Police (SP) Kamdam Sikom of East Kameng District. This recognition celebrates his outstanding dedication and performance in ensuring a smooth and efficient election process. SP Sikom was one of seven officers selected for this distinguished accolade.
The award ceremony took place at Nirvachan Bhawan and was attended by key dignitaries, including Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh Manish Kumar Gupta, IAS, Director General of Police Anand Mohan, IPS, and Chief Electoral Officer Pawan Kumar Sain, IAS.
In a heartfelt message, SP Sikom expressed his gratitude for the recognition, attributing his success to the collective efforts of the district administration, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), IRBn units, line departments, and his team of subordinates. He specifically acknowledged the seamless collaboration with the then Deputy Commissioner of East Kameng District, which he credited as instrumental in the successful conduct of the elections.
“This award is a collective achievement and belongs to all the individuals and departments that contributed to the smooth and successful conduct of the elections,” SP Sikom stated.
Although unable to attend the ceremony due to prior commitments, SP Sikom’s award was received on his behalf by a colleague, marking a moment of pride for the East Kameng District Police.
The recognition not only underscores SP Sikom’s exceptional leadership but also highlights the importance of teamwork and integrity in upholding democratic processes. The award serves as a testament to the State Election Commission’s dedication to honoring officers who play a vital role in maintaining free, fair, and transparent elections in Arunachal Pradesh.
