Kokrajhar to Host Historic Assam Legislative Assembly Budget Session
Assam: In a groundbreaking moment for Assam’s legislative history, the Budget Session of the Assam Legislative Assembly will be held in Kokrajhar, the capital of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), for the first time.
Scheduled for February 17, the one-day session will convene at the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA) premises.
Ahead of this historic event, Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary, along with senior Assembly officials, conducted a detailed inspection of the BTC Legislative Assembly premises to oversee preparations. A review meeting was also held at the BTC conference hall, bringing together BTC Chief Pramod Boro, BTC Legislative Assembly Speaker Katiram Boro, Executive Members, senior officials, and police personnel to finalize arrangements.
Speaker Daimary expressed satisfaction with the ongoing preparations and highlighted the session’s significance. He noted that discussions during the session would focus on key issues related to Assam’s Sixth Schedule Council, marking a pivotal moment for legislative deliberations in the region.
This event represents a significant milestone for Kokrajhar and the Bodoland Territorial Region, underscoring its growing prominence within Assam’s legislative and administrative framework.
