Oil India Limited Inaugurates Itanagar Office to Advance Energy Initiatives in Arunachal Pradesh
Itanagar: Oil India Limited (OIL) has officially opened its branch office in Itanagar, marking a strategic step toward enhancing energy development in Arunachal Pradesh.
The new office, located at the CESHS campus, was inaugurated by the Minister of Women and Child Development, Science & Technology, in the presence of Saloma Yomdo, OIL’s Director (E&D), and Sumedha, Secretary of Science & Technology, alongside other dignitaries.
The inauguration event highlighted the region’s potential for renewable energy projects, particularly geothermal energy. A kick-off meeting between OIL and CESHS explored Arunachal Pradesh’s capacity for geothermal energy development, emphasizing sustainable energy solutions as a priority.
In a significant development, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE), Visakhapatnam, and CESHS. This partnership aims to collaborate on Earth sciences, geothermal and hydrogen energy exploration, tunnelling, and mineral technology, underlining a shared commitment to advancing innovative energy solutions.
The establishment of the Itanagar office reinforces OIL’s dedication to strengthening energy infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh, contributing to the state’s economic growth and aligning with India’s broader renewable energy goals.
