Manipur Declares Half-Holiday to Mourn Passing of MLA N Kayisii
The Manipur government has declared a half-holiday on Monday, January 20, 2025, as a mark of respect for N Kayisii, the MLA of Tadubi in Senapati district, who passed away on Saturday following a prolonged illness. He was 58 years old.
In an official statement, the government announced that all offices and educational institutions under its jurisdiction would close from 1 PM on the day of mourning. “The governor of Manipur is pleased to declare a half-holiday on January 20, 2025, as a mark of respect to the memory of (Late) N Kayisii,” the statement read.
Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla expressed his condolences on the loss of Kayisii, describing him as a dedicated leader and a significant contributor to the state’s development.
N Kayisii was a senior leader of the National People’s Party (NPP) and a prominent figure in Manipur’s political landscape. Representing the Tadubi Assembly Constituency, he was widely respected for his grassroots approach and commitment to the welfare of his people.
During his tenure, Kayisii worked tirelessly to address critical issues affecting his constituency, advocating for infrastructure development, education, and healthcare improvements.
