Manipur: Security Forces Recover Arms Cache in Kangpokpi District Operations
Imphal: In a bid to bolster security in vulnerable regions across the hill and valley districts of Manipur, security forces launched a series of intensive search and area domination operations. The operations, conducted in the Lunkhongjang Ridges under the jurisdiction of New Keithelmanbi Police Station in Kangpokpi District, yielded a significant recovery of arms and ammunition.
The recovered items include a 7.62 mm sniper rifle, five 9 mm pistols complete with magazines, two SBBL guns, two No. 36 hand grenades, six live rounds of ammunition, two stun shells, a tear smoke shell (chilli), a standard tear smoke shell, and a Motorola communication set.
The recovery underscores the ongoing efforts of security forces to maintain peace and prevent potential threats in sensitive areas. Officials stated that these operations are part of a broader strategy to counter illegal activities and enhance security for the local population.
The discovery of such a large cache of weapons highlights the importance of sustained vigilance in regions prone to unrest.
