BPF Launches Political Offensive at 6th Central Triennial Conference Ahead of BTC Elections

Guwahati: The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) hosted its 6th Central Triennial Conference at the Bengtol Jangkhrikhang Field in Chirang District, signaling the party’s determination to reclaim political dominance in the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections.

The event, a pivotal gathering for the party, brought together leaders, members, and supporters to chart a course for electoral success.

The conference began with the ceremonial hoisting of the party flag by BPF President and former BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary, a symbolic gesture underscoring the party’s readiness to engage in the high-stakes electoral contest. The mood was one of strategy and solidarity, with leaders rallying the cadre for the challenges ahead.

On January 19, the Parent Body and Central Working Committee convened to discuss key political strategies, resulting in 23 resolutions aimed at fortifying the party’s position. The agenda focused on developing a comprehensive roadmap for the elections, emphasizing grassroots outreach and a renewed commitment to addressing regional concerns.

The gathering turned fiery with BPF MLA Durga Das Boro launching a scathing attack on Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Executive Member (CEM) Promod Boro. In a speech laden with allegations, Durga Das Boro accused the CEM of mismanagement, corruption, and a failure to deliver on promises.

“Promod Boro will sell BTC if he gets money,” Durga Das Boro claimed, alleging that the CEM had compromised several departments of the BTC and neglected critical infrastructure projects initiated under Hagrama Mohilary’s leadership. He further criticized the administration for failing to repair roads and fulfill promises of transforming the BTC into a model of progress akin to “Switzerland.”

Despite the sharp political rhetoric, the conference projected a confident front. Durga Das Boro declared the BPF’s return to power as inevitable, framing the upcoming elections as a decisive moment for the region’s governance. He described the polls as an opportunity for the people to restore capable leadership and progress under the BPF.

The event has galvanized party workers and set the tone for a politically charged campaign in the Bodoland Territorial Region. With the BPF doubling down on its criticism of Promod Boro’s administration and unveiling a detailed election strategy, the BTC elections are shaping up to be a high-stakes battle for control and influence in the region.

As the political temperature rises, the BTC elections are poised to play a critical role in shaping the future of the Bodoland Territorial Region, drawing attention from across the political spectrum.
