Assam: Armed Robbery at Petrol Depot in Tinsukia’s Pengeri Chariali

Assam: Tinsukia district’s Pengeri Chariali was shaken by a daring armed robbery at a petrol depot late Tuesday night, where five armed assailants targeted the establishment.

The gang, arriving in a black Venue SUV without a number plate, created panic as they brandished pistols and looted over ₹1 lakh in cash from the depot owned by businessman Binanda Sonowal.

The miscreants fled the scene immediately after the heist, leaving staff and locals in shock.

Pengeri police have launched a thorough investigation, actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. Authorities are also analyzing CCTV footage from the area to track the movements of the vehicle used in the crime.

The incident has raised concerns over safety and security in the region.
