Shyamashree Sherpa Replaces Dikila Sherpa in Nepali Film ‘Maitighar’ as Production Finalizes Cast
Gangtok: The much-awaited Nepali film Maitighar, produced by Rohit Adhikari under the banner of Rohit Adhikari Films, has officially revealed its final cast lineup.
In a surprising twist, celebrated Sikkimese actress Shyamashree Sherpa has been announced as a replacement for Dikila Sherpa, who exited the project.
The producers confirmed the change on Sunday, with Rohit Adhikari announcing that the agreement with Shyamashree Sherpa has been finalized.
The actress, best known for her powerful performance in Tara: The Lost Star, is expected to bring her diverse talent to the ensemble, raising the film’s expectations.
Shyamashree’s inclusion is particularly exciting for fans, as her career includes roles in Indian web series, advertisements, and music videos.
Her acclaimed performance in Tara: The Lost Star, which was selected for the Cannes Film Festival market in India, has already established her as a notable figure in the Nepali film industry. Tara: The Lost Star is also expected to release in Nepal soon.
Alongside Shyamashree, Maitighar features an impressive cast of well-known actors, including Prakash Saput, Dhiraj Magar, Kedar Ghimire, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Buddhi Tamang, Mao Tse Gurung, and Shishir Bangdel. This blend of seasoned talent and fresh faces promises to offer a captivating cinematic experience.
The film is directed by Milan Tamang, with producers Rabin Sherchan and Dhiraj Tamang. The script, written by Chandrakumar Dong, is expected to present a compelling narrative. Executive producers Ishwar Shrestha and Neeraj Katuwal are also part of the production team.
Filming for Maitighar is set to begin by the end of March, and with the cast and crew now finalized, the team is preparing for what is anticipated to be a landmark film in Nepali cinema.
