Sikkim: Namchi Representative Takes Action to Combat Littering in His Constituency

Gangtok: Satish Chandra Rai, the representative of Namchi Singithang, took immediate action on January 31 after noticing litter scattered on the streets near the SKM District Party Office in Namchi.

Demonstrating his commitment to cleanliness, Rai personally stepped in to clean the area, setting a strong example for his community.

Rai, visibly disappointed by the disregard for public spaces, expressed the importance of everyone’s responsibility in maintaining a clean environment.

He emphasized that cleanliness is a collective effort and that every individual should contribute to the betterment of their surroundings.

“Maintaining cleanliness is not just an individual responsibility but a collective one that impacts the well-being of all,” Rai said.

He further warned that if littering continues, more stringent measures will be implemented to ensure public spaces are kept clean.

In his message, Rai underscored the importance of leadership through action, stating, “Leadership is not just about making speeches; it’s about taking action and leading by example.” His hands-on approach aims to inspire others in the community to take responsibility and foster a cleaner, healthier environment for all.
