Mizoram Governor Commends BSF Personnel During Visit to Aizawl Headquarters

Aizawl: Mizoram Governor Gen (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) visited the Border Security Force (BSF) Sector Headquarters at Durtlang North in Aizawl today, where he lauded the dedication of BSF officers and jawans in safeguarding the India-Bangladesh border.

Interacting with the personnel, the Governor commended their unwavering commitment to national security, emphasizing the importance of continuous vigilance to uphold the integrity of the border.

He called for heightened surveillance to combat illegal cross-border activities, highlighting the critical role BSF plays in ensuring public safety.

Governor Singh also praised the BSF’s Civic Action Programme, recognizing its contribution to fostering goodwill between the force and local communities. He encouraged the personnel to continue their humanitarian initiatives with dedication and enthusiasm.

Upon arrival, the Governor was given a Guard of Honour and received a warm welcome by Shri Kalyan Kanti Majumdar, DIG, and other senior officials. He was briefed on the strategic responsibilities of the BSF in Mizoram and its operational challenges.

The Governor toured the BSF office and Composite Hospital and received a detailed presentation on the force’s operations in the region.

The BSF is responsible for guarding a 318 km stretch of the India-Bangladesh border in Mizoram, with 58 Border Outposts (BOPs) ensuring enhanced security.
