Arunachal Agriculture Minister Calls for Transparent Welfare Distribution and Inter-Departmental Coordination

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Minister Gabriel D Wangsu has stressed the need for transparency and accountability in distributing welfare scheme benefits, ensuring that assistance reaches the right beneficiaries without political interference.

During a review meeting in Khonsa, Tirap district, on Friday, Wangsu highlighted the importance of inter-departmental consultation before procuring agricultural resources such as piglets or seeds to maximize output.

He directed officials to create a comprehensive database of farmers to streamline beneficiary identification and enhance the effectiveness of government schemes.

Emphasizing the role of scientific research in improving agricultural productivity, Wangsu encouraged Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) scientists to collaborate with government departments, sharing their findings to facilitate better seed and livestock distribution.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to nurturing future agricultural leaders through structured training programs.

Earlier in the day, the minister, accompanied by Khonsa East MLA Wanglam Sawin, visited a horticulture nursery farm and a cattle farm to assess on-ground agricultural practices and infrastructure.

His visit underscored the state’s focus on strengthening its agricultural and horticultural sectors through strategic planning and scientific interventions.
