Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Celebrates 56th Birthday, Reaffirms Commitment to Progress

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma marked his 56th birthday today, celebrating the occasion with supporters, party workers, and well-wishers at his residence in Guwahati.

The event saw a significant turnout of ministers, legislators, and BJP members who gathered to extend their greetings and acknowledge his leadership.

Since taking office in 2021, Sarma has spearheaded several transformative initiatives in Assam. His government’s decision to shut down state-run madrassas aimed to integrate modern education with national academic standards.

He has also taken a strong stance against child marriage, leading large-scale crackdowns, arrests, and awareness campaigns to combat the issue.

Under his leadership, Assam’s “War on Drugs” campaign has intensified, with law enforcement agencies seizing vast quantities of narcotics and dismantling drug trafficking networks.

His administration has also launched strict measures to curb organized crime and illegal activities.

Expressing gratitude for the outpouring of wishes, Sarma reiterated his commitment to driving Assam toward economic growth, governance reforms, and social development.

“Everyone came to give me their best wishes,” he said, emphasizing his resolve to continue working for the state’s progress.

The celebrations featured cultural performances and community interactions, highlighting his deep connection with the people of Assam.
