Assam: BPF Vice President Kampa Borgoyari Resigns, Sparks Speculation of Shift to UPPL

Guwahati: Kampa Borgoyari, Vice President of the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) and former Deputy Chief of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), resigned from the party on January 2, citing his inability to actively participate in party activities.

In his resignation letter addressed to BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary, Borgoyari expressed his gratitude for the opportunities he had received over the past twenty years, stating, “I extend my gratitude to you, all BPF leaders, and well-wishers for granting me the opportunity to serve the people in various capacities.” However, he refrained from providing specific reasons for his departure.

Borgoyari’s exit has stirred speculation about a potential move to the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), as sources indicate the possibility of a shift in allegiance. His resignation could mark a significant shift in the political landscape, particularly within the Bodoland region, as the BPF and UPPL continue to be key players in the local political dynamics.

Borgoyari’s departure leaves open questions about the future direction of the BPF and whether it will impact the party’s position in upcoming elections or political alliances.
