Tripura Doctors’ Association Meets Chief Minister to Discuss Key Issues
Agartala: The Central Working Committee (CWC) of the All Tripura Government Doctor’s Association (ATGDA) met with Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on February 4th to discuss several critical concerns facing the state’s healthcare system.
Key issues raised by the ATGDA included the amendment of the Tripura State Health Services (THS) Act, the extension of the retirement age for doctors to 65 years, and the reappointment of THS doctors.
Furthermore, the ATGDA emphasized the need for the absorption of THS doctors into the Tripura Medical Education Service (TMES) and the amendment of the TMES Act.
The association also sought approval for the absorption of 19 ad-hoc MBBS doctors through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC).
The CWC highlighted that many doctors are currently serving on short-term deputation, which they believe should be converted to transfers wherever possible to enhance service delivery to the people of Tripura.
