Security Guard Shot in Leg in Targeted Attack in Manipur

Imphal: A 28-year-old man, Kritingamba Leishangthem, was shot in the leg by unidentified miscreants on the night of February 5, 2025, around 9 pm, at Game Village Road, under the jurisdiction of Lamphel Police Station.

Leishangthem, a resident of Langol Game Village and a security guard at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), was promptly taken to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for treatment after sustaining a gunshot wound to his leg.

The attack is believed to have been targeted, though the exact motive remains unclear. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident. Leishangthem’s condition is being closely monitored as he receives medical care at RIMS. Further details are expected as the investigation unfolds.
