CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Discusses Tata Group Investments in Assam with N Chandrasekaran
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran at his Prithviraj Road residence in New Delhi on February 7 to discuss the Tata Group’s upcoming investments in Assam, including the much-anticipated semiconductor plant in Jagiroad.
The hour-long meeting focused on advancing the group’s projects in the state, aligning with Assam’s push for industrial expansion. CM Sarma recently inspected the construction of the mega semiconductor facility, which is expected to play a pivotal role in Assam’s economic landscape.
Extending an invitation to Chandrasekaran for the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit in Guwahati on February 25-26, Sarma expressed enthusiasm about the Tata Group’s contributions. In a post on X, he stated, “It was truly a pleasure to meet Shri N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of @TataCompanies today in New Delhi. Our conversation about the group’s exciting investments in Assam was inspiring, and I’m eagerly looking forward to welcoming him at the #AdvantageAssam2 Summit!”
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the fifth edition of the India-Japan Intellectual Conclave, Kizuna: Co-creating Ecosystems for Change – Technology, Education, and Logistics, in Guwahati. Organized by Asian Confluence in partnership with the Embassy of Japan and the Ministry of External Affairs, the conclave has brought together key stakeholders from India and Japan to discuss collaborative opportunities in technology, education, and logistics.
