Manipur: Two Arrested in Kangpokpi with Suspected Opium
Imphal: Security forces in Manipur arrested two individuals in possession of 20 Khaini cases containing suspected opium (Kani) in the hill range of Lanka village, Kangpokpi district, on February 7.
Acting on specific intelligence, the personnel seized the Khaini cases, weighing a total of 642.09 grams, along with the weight of the cases, from the village.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Maniraj (35) and Yam Bahadur (49), both residents of Bajagra village in Kangpokpi district.
In a separate operation, security forces recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition from the fringe area between Aigejang foothills under Nambol police station in Bishnupur district.
The recovered items include one .303 Rifle, one Bolt Action Rifle, two SBBL Guns, one .22 Pistol, one 9 mm Pistol, multiple grenades, ammunition, and other explosive materials.
These operations highlight the continued efforts of security forces to curb illegal activities and maintain peace and security in the state.
