CM Manik Saha Launches ‘Skill Uday Tongai’ to Empower 80,000 Students in Tripura
Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha launched the ‘Skill Uday Tongai’ skill development training programme at the Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT) in Narsingarh, Agartala, aimed at empowering 80,000 school and college students.
The initiative is designed to enhance career prospects, skill development, and employment opportunities for the youth of Tripura.
In addition to Skill Uday Tongai, CM Saha inaugurated several other key initiatives, including the State MIS Portal, a Career Guidance Programme for 70,000 girl students across 983 schools, the NSDC Programme for 7,000 college students, and the English Employability and Entrepreneurship (EEE) Programme.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), CM Saha expressed his optimism about the programme’s impact:
“To empower around 80,000 school and college students, today launched ‘Skill Uday Tongnai’, a skill development training programme, at TIT auditorium. In the event, also inaugurated State MIS Portal, Career Guidance Programme for 70,000 girl students of 983 schools, NSDC Programme for 7000 college students, and EEE Programme for 1600 students.”
Speaking to ANI at the launch event, CM Saha emphasized the transformational impact of these initiatives. “This is a very good initiative. Around 70,000 students will be trained here. This will make the future of Tripura very bright,” he stated.
During the event, CM Saha also inspected Drone Technology and honoured two master trainers who have been trained in the field. Highlighting the employment potential of drone technology, he stated that it could revolutionize sectors such as agriculture, security, power services, wildlife conservation, disaster management, and remote healthcare.
Earlier in the day, CM Saha reiterated the Tripura government’s commitment to quality education, stating that strengthening the foundation of students from an early age is a top priority. “Teachers play a key role in shaping the future. The main objective of the state government is to formulate various policies and programmes to ensure quality education in educational institutions. Providing loans and scholarships to deserving students is also a major goal,” he remarked during the state-level Teaching Learning Material (TLM) competition-cum-exhibition at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan.
With these ambitious skill development and educational initiatives, the Tripura government continues to push forward in creating a skilled, self-reliant, and employment-ready youth population.
