Manipur CM N Biren Singh Inaugurates 2nd Eikhoigi Imphal International Film Festival
Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh reaffirmed the state’s commitment to fostering a thriving cinematic culture as he inaugurated the 2nd edition of the Eikhoigi Imphal International Film Festival (EIIFF) 2025).
The highly anticipated festival, which runs from February 6 to 9, features a curated selection of 56 films from across the globe, celebrating the art of storytelling and filmmaking.
Taking to his official X handle, CM Singh expressed pride in bringing together international and regional cinema on a single platform.
“This festival is a celebration of storytelling, creativity, and the power of film to transcend borders,” he stated, while extending an open invitation to film enthusiasts and the public to join the four-day cinematic extravaganza.
Earlier, the Chief Minister unveiled the festival’s teaser, marking the return of the event after a two-year hiatus due to challenges in the region.
“After two challenging years, the festival returns, bringing together filmmakers and enthusiasts from around the world. A celebration of art, resilience, and the power of storytelling,” he posted.
The festival serves as a crucial platform for Manipuri cinema to gain global recognition while providing local filmmakers with the opportunity to showcase their talent on an international stage. As the event unfolds, cinephiles and artists from across the world are expected to engage in meaningful discussions, collaborations, and celebrations of the cinematic arts.
