Swati Maliwal Targets AAP Amid Electoral Setback, Cites ‘Divine Justice’ for Crimes Against Women

Delhi: As the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) faces a major electoral downturn in the Delhi Assembly elections, Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal has launched a scathing attack on the party’s leadership, asserting that divine justice is inevitable for those who commit crimes against women.

Her remarks, widely interpreted as a veiled reference to her own allegations against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal’s aide, Bibhav Kumar, have further deepened the crisis within the party.

Maliwal, who remains an AAP member despite her sharp criticism of Kejriwal, accused Kumar of assaulting her at the former Chief Minister’s residence. Speaking to ANI, she remarked that history has always punished those who wrong women. Drawing a dramatic parallel, she stated, “Even Ravan’s arrogance was shattered, and he was far greater—this is just Kejriwal.”

Beyond the personal allegations, Maliwal attributed AAP’s electoral downfall to broader governance failures. She pointed to critical issues such as water and air pollution, poor infrastructure, and a lack of basic amenities, arguing that these factors have eroded public trust in the party.

AAP’s declining performance in the Delhi polls marks a significant political shift, with the party struggling to maintain its once-dominant position. As internal rifts come to the forefront, the party now faces mounting challenges both within its leadership and among its voter base.
