Schoolgirl Abducted from Guwahati Rescued in Golaghat, One Kidnapper Arrested

Guwahati: A schoolgirl who was abducted from the Paltan Bazar area in Guwahati has been successfully rescued by police, bringing relief to her family and local residents. The victim, a student of Nicholes Higher Secondary School, was allegedly lured out of her home by a group of youths before being forcibly taken away.

According to sources, one of the accused convinced the girl to step out of her house in Manipur Basti, after which she was allegedly drugged and abducted. The group then transported her to Borpathar in Golaghat district, where she was eventually traced and rescued by a team from Paltan Bazar Police Station.

During the operation, police managed to apprehend one of the kidnappers, while the other three suspects managed to escape. Initial investigations suggest that the abductors were known to the victim, raising further concerns over the circumstances of the crime.

Authorities have intensified their search efforts to track down the remaining suspects and ensure strict legal action. Meanwhile, the police have urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant about their children’s safety, particularly in cases involving online or personal acquaintances.
