Sikkim CM Inaugurates ‘Ama ko Goad’ Health Support Facility for Patients in Siliguri

Gnagtok: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang inaugurated the ‘Ama ko Goad’ Su-swasthya Niwas on February 14, a dedicated health-logistic support facility designed to assist Sikkimese patients receiving medical treatment in hospitals near Siliguri.

The newly established center, located in Champasari, Siliguri, aims to provide a comfortable stay for patients and their families during their medical journeys.

The facility is managed by the Gareeb Jankalyan Prakoshtha, a welfare initiative under the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) Party.

Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Minister Tamang emphasized his government’s commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and ensuring that no citizen faces difficulties while seeking treatment outside the state. He stated that ‘Ama ko Goad’ would offer essential support to patients and their caregivers, easing the burden of medical travel.

Tamang expressed his gratitude to the medical staff and the team led by Prabhakar Golay, Chief Patron of the Gareeb Jankalyan Prakoshtha, for their dedication to providing efficient care. He commended their efforts in making healthcare assistance more accessible to those in need.

Highlighting future plans, the chief minister announced that the facility would undergo further expansion and upgrades to enhance its services. He reiterated his government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure, ensuring that patients from Sikkim receive the necessary support while undergoing treatment away from home.
