Assam Police Deports Two Bangladeshi Nationals Amid Border Security Crackdown

Guwahati: In a decisive border security operation, Assam Police apprehended and deported two Bangladeshi nationals along the Indo-Bangladesh frontier.

The individuals, identified as Riyaz Mulla and Shaqib Mondal, were intercepted during heightened security checks aimed at curbing illegal crossings.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the deportation through a social media post, commending Assam Police for their vigilance in safeguarding the state’s borders. The crackdown reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen border security, ensuring that unauthorized entries are swiftly addressed.

Assam, which shares a 263-kilometre border with Bangladesh, remains a crucial zone for immigration control and security operations. Authorities continue to reinforce surveillance and monitoring measures to prevent illegal infiltrations and maintain territorial integrity.
