Guwahati — The Assam Home Department has taken strict disciplinary action following the escape of drug mafia Dulal Ali from Nagaon Central Jail, exposing serious security lapses within the facility.
As part of immediate corrective measures:
• Superintendent Tapas Kumar Bhuyan has been transferred to Sonari.
• Jailor Manas Kumar Burhagohain has been reassigned to Sadiya.
• Chief Jail Warden Debojit Dutta has been suspended.
The decision follows allegations of mismanagement and internal irregularities within the jail. Authorities have assured that further investigations are underway to strengthen security measures and prevent future breaches.
