Northeast: The Central Government has approved additional financial assistance under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) for Tripura and Nagaland, reinforcing its commitment to disaster recovery efforts.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the approval on X (formerly Twitter), emphasizing the Modi government’s unwavering support for disaster-affected people.

“Today, the MHA approved an additional central assistance of ₹1,554.99 crore to Andhra Pradesh, Nagaland, Odisha, Telangana, and Tripura under the NDRF. This is in addition to the ₹18,322.80 crore already released to 27 states under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF),” Shah stated.

Of the total ₹1,554.99 crore, the allocations include:
• ₹608.08 crore for Andhra Pradesh
• ₹170.99 crore for Nagaland
• ₹255.24 crore for Odisha
• ₹231.75 crore for Telangana
• ₹288.93 crore for Tripura

The announcement follows Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha’s recent meeting with Amit Shah in Delhi, where they discussed Tripura’s development roadmap and post-flood relief efforts.

Tripura suffered massive losses after devastating floods in August 2024, making the additional financial aid crucial for ongoing rehabilitation and recovery measures.
