Arunachal’s Jacob Khaduju Shines at National Push-Up Championship, Plans Regional Fitness Drive
Jacob Khaduju, a passionate fitness enthusiast from West Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh, has made his state proud by securing 5th place at the 2nd Edition of the Push India Push Championship, a premier national push-up competition held near Marine Drive, Mumbai. Competing among the top 10 finalists from across the country, Jacob was the only representative from Northeast India, solidifying his presence on a prestigious platform.
The championship brought together elite fitness athletes, all selected based on their performance in the inaugural edition of Push India Push (PIP). Jacob’s journey in the competition has been one of dedication and steady growth. In the 1st Edition held in Pune last year, he ranked 8th among nearly 20,000 participants. His remarkable progress to 5th place this year highlights his relentless commitment to pushing his physical limits and striving for excellence.
Recognizing his inspiring efforts, Jacob has been appointed as the Arunachal Pradesh captain for the national Fitistan Campaign, an initiative dedicated to promoting fitness and healthy living across India. With a vision to foster a strong fitness culture in his home state, Jacob is now preparing to launch “Push Arunachal Push,” a regional push-up competition that will provide a direct entry for its champion into the 3rd Edition of Push India Push. The ultimate winner of the national competition will receive a ₹25 lakh cash prize and a prestigious trophy, making it a significant opportunity for aspiring fitness enthusiasts.
Jacob expressed deep gratitude to his mother, family, the Bhalukpong Sajolang Society, and local MLA Tenzin Nyima Glow for their unwavering support in his journey. His success not only highlights his personal achievements but also paves the way for young athletes in Arunachal Pradesh to embrace fitness as a way of life.
