Nagaland: Rajiv Gandhi University Hosts Vibrant ‘Bharat Ko Jano’ Celebration, Governor Ganesan Underscores National Unity

Kohima: Doimukh witnessed a spectacle of cultural confluence as Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) resonated with the spirit of ‘Bharat Ko Jano’ on March 6th. The event, graced by Nagaland Governor La Ganesan as chief guest, served as a vibrant platform to celebrate India’s multifaceted cultural heritage and reinforce the bonds of national unity.

Governor Ganesan, in his address, articulated the pivotal role of cultural exchange in forging a cohesive national identity amidst India’s diverse populace. He passionately conveyed that the nation’s strength is rooted in its capacity to embrace and celebrate varied traditions while fostering a unified national ethos.

He further elaborated that ‘Bharat Ko Jano’ acted as a crucial catalyst for promoting mutual respect and understanding, achieved through a rich tapestry of musical performances, captivating dance routines, and engaging storytelling sessions.

The event showcased a kaleidoscope of cultural expressions, featuring performances from Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Assam. The Governor specifically highlighted the profound cultural richness of the North Eastern region, noting its intricate blend of history, languages, and artistic expressions, mirroring the diverse tapestry of the entire nation. He stressed the imperative of preserving these invaluable traditions for posterity, recognizing them as integral threads in India’s cultural fabric.

Expressing his sincere appreciation, Governor Ganesan extended his gratitude to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and the Department of Art and Culture for their collaborative efforts. He commended the organisers and artists for their dedicated contributions. He further called upon cultural institutions, government bodies, and the youth to actively engage in initiatives like ‘Bharat Ko Jano,’ ensuring the sustained promotion and preservation of India’s diverse heritage. The event was made possible through the combined efforts of the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, and the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
