Tripura CM Pushes for Rural Development, Urges Popularisation of ‘My Gov’ Portal
Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has stressed the need for rapid rural development and urged public representatives and officials to actively promote the ‘My Gov’ portal, a digital initiative aimed at addressing public grievances swiftly. The portal, launched by the state government, allows citizens to upload photographs of roads, drainage systems, and other civic issues requiring immediate intervention, ensuring prompt action by authorities.
Speaking at a program, Saha highlighted that any unresolved issues reported on the portal would be escalated directly to the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary for necessary action. He shared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was highly impressed when he presented the concept at the Chief Ministers’ conclave in Delhi, and now, other states are exploring similar online mechanisms to accelerate rural development.
Calling for widespread awareness of the initiative, Saha emphasized that the portal aligns with the Prime Minister’s Digital India vision. He further stated that Tripura is the only state where e-governance has been implemented at all levels, from the state administration down to gram panchayats. Digital payments have been introduced at panchayat offices, and documents are now stored digitally, ensuring greater transparency in governance.
The Chief Minister also noted that Tripura has taken significant steps toward women’s empowerment, with four panchayat samitis being led by women, a development he has personally reported to the Prime Minister. Additionally, he underscored the effective functioning of the state’s three-tier panchayat system, which has earned Tripura seven national awards for excellence in managing Panchayati Raj governance.
Saha reiterated his government’s commitment to leveraging technology for development and urged officials to make the ‘My Gov’ portal a widely used tool for addressing rural challenges efficiently.
