Arunachal Pradesh Bolsters Social Fabric with Rs 435 Crore Welfare Budget
Itanagar witnessed a significant fiscal move as the Arunachal Pradesh government unveiled a budget allocation of Rs 435 crore, dedicated entirely to the upliftment of the state’s most vulnerable populations. This substantial investment underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering a society where equitable growth is prioritized.
The cornerstone of this initiative is the ‘Antyodaya initiative’, a program designed to ensure that the state’s marginalized communities are not overlooked in the pursuit of progress. The government’s focus is to create a safety net, enabling these communities to participate fully in the state’s development.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu, in a public statement, emphasized the philosophical underpinning of the allocation, stating, “Every life matters, and through #Antyodaya, we reaffirm our pledge to build an inclusive and compassionate Arunachal.” This statement highlighted the administration’s intent to base its governance on principles of social equity and justice.
In a parallel move, Chief Minister Khandu also announced a separate allocation of Rs 60 crore, earmarked for the preservation and promotion of Arunachal Pradesh’s rich cultural legacy. This investment, revealed during the Assembly session, is intended to support the revitalization of traditional arts, the conservation of historical sites, and the empowerment of local artisans.
The cultural initiative is designed to ensure that the state’s indigenous traditions not only survive but thrive, thereby securing a strong cultural identity for future generations. The government’s dual focus on social welfare and cultural preservation paints a picture of a state committed to holistic development.
