NIT Meghalaya Successfully Concludes MSME-Sponsored Five-Day Program on AI, Waste Management, and 3D Printing

Shillong: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya, located in Shohra, successfully hosted a five-day program from March 10 to March 14, 2025, sponsored by the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

The event brought together experts, industry leaders, and participants to explore advancements in artificial intelligence, waste management, and 3D printing.

The program was inaugurated by Chief Guest Satinder K. Bhalla, Deputy Director General of the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, alongside Guest of Honour Bijit Goswami, Executive Director of Tech-Operation & Maintenance at North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO). Under the leadership of NIT Meghalaya’s Director, Prof. Pinakeswar Mahanta, the program covered three key topics:
1. Advanced Management Development Program – Focusing on Data Science and AI for Management Development.
2. ESDP (Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Program) – Awareness and training in solid waste management as a pathway to entrepreneurship, particularly for women in Northeast India.
3. AESDP (Advanced Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Program) – Hands-on training in 3D modeling and 3D printing technology.

Eminent speakers from IIT, IIM, NIFT, NEHU, and industry experts delivered insightful lectures, drawing professionals from across the country. The workshop concluded with a valedictory session, where Prof. Sreedeep S. delivered the closing remarks, marking the successful completion of the initiative.

NIT Meghalaya extended its gratitude to MSME, esteemed speakers, and participants for their valuable contributions, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation and skill development in the region.
