Arunachal Pradesh Education Landscape Expands with New Mass Communication Courses
Guwahati: The educational framework of Arunachal Pradesh is set to broaden as the Governor has officially sanctioned the introduction of a Mass Communication course at the undergraduate level.
This significant development will see the discipline offered at Dera Natung Government College in Itanagar and IN College in Pasighat.
The approval, formalized by the Chief Minister under eNote#172 dated March 6, 2025, reflects a strategic effort to enhance educational opportunities within the state.
The initiative is anticipated to equip students with specialized knowledge and skills in media and communication, directly addressing the escalating need for proficient professionals in this dynamic sector.
Simultaneously, the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly witnessed a crucial discussion regarding the implementation of the Arunachal Pradesh Electronic Media Advertisement Policy 2020. NCP MLA Toko Tatung, representing the Yachuli Assembly constituency of Keyi Panyor district, brought forward a starred question during the Budget Session’s fourth day.
Tatung’s query centered on the persistent issue of non-implementation, emphasizing the importance of equitable advertisement allocation to electronic and digital media outlets within the state. In response, Minister for Information and Public Relations (IPR) Nyato Dukam provided assurances that the policy would be fully operational within the next six months.
He acknowledged the concerns raised by the MLA and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to ensuring a fair and transparent distribution of advertisements among the state’s media organizations.
