Assam Reinforces District Finances with Re-engaged Retired Officers
Guwahati: The Assam government has initiated a significant step to bolster financial administration across the state by re-engaging several retired Assam Finance Service officers.
These individuals, with their extensive experience, have been appointed as Finance & Accounts Officers (F&AO) in various districts, including Xama, for a period of 18 months.
An official order released by the government details the specific postings of these re-engaged officers. Dhiraj Das has been assigned to Dispur, Sanjib Kumar Kalita will serve in Bokakhat, and Tabzul Hussain will be stationed in Jalukbari. Haralal Chanda is designated for Ram Krishna Nagar, while Bhaskar Sarma will take charge in Dimoria. Partha Sarathi Das is posted in Patharkandi, Biraj Kumar Pathak in Rangia, and Dhirendra Nath Kalita will manage Abhayapur. Harendra Nath Chetia is assigned to Titabor, Hari Ram Das to Jagiroad with an additional charge of Laharighat, and Pareshjit Das will serve in New Guwahati.
The appointed officers are mandated to assume their responsibilities within one week from the order’s issuance. Furthermore, they are subject to transfers as per administrative necessities. Their compensation will be calculated by subtracting their pension amount from their last drawn salary, supplemented by permissible House Rent Allowance (HRA) and a monthly mobility allowance of ₹2,000.
This initiative, approved by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, is in line with previous government directives aimed at maintaining robust financial management at the district level. The re-engagement of these seasoned professionals is expected to bring stability and efficiency to the financial operations of the specified regions.
