Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a college student lost his life in a road accident in Silapathar of Assam’s Dhemaji district today.
The incident occurred on Jyotinagar Road in Silapathar.
As per sources, the accident took place between a tractor and a scooty, leading to the death of the rider.
The deceased has been identified as Biswajit Konwar, a third-semester postgraduate student from Purbanchal College.
Sources further informed that, Konwar was riding a scooty with the bearing registration number AS07/W9793 when it collided with a high-speed tractor with the registration number number plate AS22C/5763 carrying rocks.
The impact of the collision was at a high speed which caused the student to lose his life immediately.
Following the incident, Silapathar Police immediately arrived at the spot and an investigation into the accident is currently underway to determine the cause.
