Guwahati: Vavani Vee Sarmah, hailing from Sipajhar in Assam’s Darrang district, has etched his name in the annals of space exploration through his pivotal role in SpaceX’s triumphant mission that successfully returned astronaut Sunita Williams to Earth.

As a senior software engineer at SpaceX, Sarmah’s expertise was instrumental in the mission’s technical synchronization, guaranteeing a flawless and secure landing.
