A devastating road accident in Mubarakpur, Sribhumi, has left a motorcyclist critically injured following a head-on collision between a Bullet bike and a Traveller vehicle. The incident has sparked concern among local residents as authorities launch a search for the absconding driver.
The victim, identified as Satyabrata Deb from Roy Nagar, was initially taken to Shri Bhumi Civil Hospital by bystanders who responded swiftly to the crash. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to Silchar Medical College Hospital for advanced medical care.
According to sources, the collision occurred when a Traveller vehicle (AS/01/EC/9047) traveling from Badarpur crashed into a Bullet motorcycle (AS/10/F/4716) heading toward Chargola. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver of the Traveller vehicle fled the scene immediately after the accident, leaving the injured biker behind.
Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and are making efforts to track down the missing driver. The accident has raised fresh concerns about road safety in the region, with residents urging for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations.
