Beach Volleyball Frenzy Hits Dhubri: 5th Inter-District Tournament Kicks Off
Guwahati: The highly anticipated 5th inter-district beach volleyball men’s and women’s competition has commenced at the old ferry ghat in Ward No. 1 of Dhubri, Assam. Organised by the Assam Volleyball Association in collaboration with the Dhubri District Sports Association, the tournament promises to be an action-packed event.
The opening match saw a thrilling clash between teams from South Kamrup and Tamulpur districts, setting the tone for the rest of the tournament. Several districts from across Assam have sent their teams to participate, reflecting the growing popularity of beach volleyball in the state.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Putul Baruah, Secretary of the Assam Volleyball Association, along with members of the Dhubri District Sports Association and local dignitaries. Baruah emphasized the importance of promoting beach volleyball in Assam, hoping that such competitions would encourage young talent and boost the sport’s popularity.
With teams vying for top honors, the tournament is expected to witness intense competition over the coming days. The event has already generated excitement among sports enthusiasts and locals, who have gathered to witness the thrilling matches by the riverside.
