Assam: USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque Granted Interim Bail in Dhekiajuli Case, Nears Release
Guwahati: The Gauhati High Court delivered a significant ruling on Monday, granting interim bail to University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque.
This decision pertains to a case registered against him at the Dhekiajuli police station, marking a crucial development in his ongoing legal proceedings.
This recent grant of bail represents the fifth instance where Hoque has received such relief, significantly increasing the possibility of his imminent release. His legal team has been actively pursuing bail in multiple cases, navigating a complex web of allegations and court proceedings.
Prior to this, Hoque had successfully obtained bail in two separate cases filed in Patharkandi. Furthermore, legal proceedings in Kokrajhar, Barpeta, and Goalpara have been temporarily stayed, following directives issued by the respective courts. These prior rulings have contributed to a series of favorable outcomes for the USTM Chancellor.
The culmination of these legal victories, with the latest bail grant in the Dhekiajuli case, indicates that Mahbubul Hoque is now on the verge of being released from custody. The combined effect of the bail orders and court stays suggests a significant shift in his legal standing, bringing him closer to freedom.
