Assam: Dumper Truck Accident in Guwahati’s Six Mile Area Highlights Safety Concerns

Guwahati: A severe road accident occurred in the early hours of March 26 in Guwahati’s Six Mile area, where a dumper truck lost control and fell into a ditch excavated for an ongoing flyover construction project.

The driver sustained critical injuries in the accident and was immediately rushed to Downtown Hospital for urgent medical care. Preliminary reports suggest that the accident was caused by poor visibility of the construction site and overloading of materials in the dumper, which exceeded its carrying capacity.

The incident has prompted authorities to urge contractors and drivers to exercise caution and adhere to safety regulations to prevent further mishaps in the construction zone. The accident highlights the need for improved safety measures and responsible driving practices to mitigate the risk of accidents in areas with ongoing construction work.
