MS Dhoni Becomes Chennai Super Kings’ Highest Run-Scorer in IPL History

Sports: MS Dhoni has surpassed Suresh Raina to become the highest run-getter for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Dhoni achieved this milestone during the eighth match of the ongoing IPL season, played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The wicketkeeper-batter scored an unbeaten 30 runs off 16 balls, with a strike rate of 187.5, including three boundaries and two sixes. This knock took his total runs for CSK to 4699 in 204 innings, with an impressive average of 40.50 and a strike rate of 139.43.

Dhoni has now surpassed Raina, who scored 4687 runs in 171 innings for CSK before his retirement. Other notable players on the list include Faf Du Plessis (2721 runs in 86 innings), Ruturaj Gaikwad (2433 runs in 67 innings), and Ravindra Jadeja (1939 runs in 127 innings).

In the match, CSK suffered a 50-run defeat at the hands of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), led by Rajat Patidar. Tight bowling spells from RCB pacers Josh Hazlewood and Yash Dayal secured the win for the visiting team. Patidar was awarded the Player of the Match for his brilliant fifty in the first innings.
