Outrage Erupts in Sribhumi Over Alleged Attempted Assault on Woman Inside Moving Bus

Sribhumi was shaken by a shocking incident as a young woman was allegedly subjected to an attempted sexual assault inside a moving bus, drawing comparisons to past horrors in Delhi. The case has sparked widespread protests, with members of the Hindu Raksha Dal blocking roads at the city’s AOC Point, demanding swift justice.

According to reports, the victim had visited the Badarpur Circle Officer’s office earlier in the day to obtain an income certificate. In the evening, she boarded an ATSC-operated bus to return home, only to find just two passengers inside. Sensing danger, she attempted to get off, but the bus doors were locked, and the perpetrators allegedly tried to assault her. Overpowered and terrified, she eventually lost consciousness and was later abandoned near Sargola.

Upon receiving information, her family, along with members of the Hindu Raksha Dal, located her and rushed her to the hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment. The incident has ignited public fury, with protestors demanding immediate action against the accused.

Speaking to the media, Sribhumi SP Partha Pratim Das assured that the investigation is being pursued with the highest priority. “We are analysing all angles to uncover the truth,” he stated, confirming that no effort would be spared in bringing the culprits to justice.

As protests intensify, demonstrators have issued a stern warning, demanding the immediate arrest of the perpetrators within 24 hours. They have threatened to escalate their agitation if authorities fail to act swiftly. The case has once again highlighted the urgent need for stronger safety measures for women in public transport, with residents calling for stricter enforcement and accountability.
