Manipur Security Forces Intensify Operations, Arrest Three Individuals

Imphal: Security forces in Manipur have ramped up their efforts to maintain vigilance in vulnerable areas, resulting in the arrest of three individuals, including two active militants.

The intensified operations, launched on April 2, yielded significant results, with the police seizing substantial quantities of suspected brown sugar and recovering a four-wheeler vehicle.

In one operation, Md. Faiju Rahaman, 40, was arrested while police were conducting random frisking checks between Naranseina and Sunusiphai village along NH-2 in Bishnupur district.

The police seized 12 soap caps containing approximately 661.8 grams of suspected brown sugar. A four-wheeler vehicle was also recovered from the scene.

In another operation, Khoirom Deepsea Devi, 33, an active cadre of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP – People’s War Group), was arrested from Thongju Part-II Leirak Macha in Imphal West district. The police seized a mobile phone, two SIM cards, and an Aadhaar card from Devi’s possession.

Furthermore, Thounaojam Sachindra Singh, 24, an active cadre of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), was arrested from Sanjenbam Khullen in Imphal East. Singh was arrested for his involvement in extortion activities and intimidation in Imphal’s general area.
