
Meghalaya: MBOSE Announces Stellar SSLC Results, Marks Historic High in Pass Percentage
Shillong: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) today declared the results for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination, 2025, revealing an impressive overall pass percentage of 87.10 per cent. This figure represents a significant leap in academic performance, notably surpassing the roughly 50% range observed in previous years.
Students who diligently appeared for the crucial examinations, held from February 10th to 25th, 2025, can now access their individual results through the official MBOSE website, accessible at mbose.in. For added convenience, the Meghalaya board result page at megresults.nic.in also provides a direct avenue for students to view their scores.
This year witnessed a substantial participation of 63,682 students in the SSLC examinations. Among them, a commendable 36,570 students successfully cleared all six subjects, while an additional 18,903 students achieved passing marks in five subjects.
Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the successful students via his official X handle. He lauded their achievements, stating, “Many congratulations to the students who passed with flying colours in the SSLC, MBOSE examinations. May this first leap to your future motivate you to strive for greater things. This year’s result, touching 87.10 % pass percentage is a path breaking result, exceeding the record of the results of the past years which have been hovering in the 50% range. I also extend my heartiest congratulations’ to all the 341 schools who achieved 100% pass percentage.”
Analyzing the district-wise performance, West Jaintia Hills emerged as the frontrunner with an outstanding pass percentage of 96.03 per cent. Following closely were Eastern West Khasi Hills at 95.54 per cent and South West Khasi Hills at 94.93 per cent, demonstrating strong academic foundations in these regions.
East Khasi Hills also showcased a noteworthy performance with a 92.54 per cent pass rate, while East Jaintia Hills and West Khasi Hills recorded pass percentages of 92.40 per cent and 90.50 per cent, respectively.
In the Garo Hills region, South Garo Hills led with an impressive 88.32 per cent of its students passing the examination. West Garo Hills followed with 80.50 per cent, and East Garo Hills with 80.31 per cent. North Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills registered pass percentages of 75.76 per cent and 74.77 per cent, respectively. Ri Bhoi district also demonstrated strong academic outcomes, with 89.33 per cent of its candidates successfully clearing the SSLC examination. The overall results underscore a positive trend in academic achievement across numerous districts within the state, signifying consistent effort and progress in the education sector.
